In the past few months, the ecosystem of chatbot kept growing. Majors platforms like Skype, Facebook, Kik, Line etc. have all started supporting chatbots and the last announcements at F8 suggest that it is just the beginning.
At the last Microsoft Build in San Francisco, Satya Nadella outlined Microsoft’s vision for Conversations as a Platform. He explained that pairing “the power of natural human language with advanced machine intelligence” will enable organizations and consumers to get more done and have more fun, with the help of intelligent bots and digital personal assistants
Microsoft also launched the very powerful Microsoft Bot Framework, providing a streamlined process for the development of bots on several B2C platforms.
But when it comes to enterprise scenarios and B2E chatbots, it is a different story. Skype for Business is the chosen enterprise Instant Messaging (IM) and Unified Communications (UC) platform for thousands of businesses worldwide according to this case study: http://www.nojitter.com/slideshows/240171671/skype-for-business-adoption-trends-2016
Unfortunately, Skype for Business does not support bots out of the box…
.. Until now!
Witivio team have developed the connector to enable all bot builders to reach B2E scenarios. They can now imagine, build and deploy enterprise chatbots to give users more autonomy.
Using Skype for Business allows the chatbot to be multi devices, including desktop, smartphone, tablet and web access. Of course, we do support Office 365 and On Premise as well.
However, Skype for Business as a client application does have a few limitations in enabling a great bot experience. Sometimes, Bots need to communicate with users using images, cards, buttons… But Skype for Business client does not support a rich bot experience yet.
We did not only release a connector, we included a bot analytics allowing to monitor the impact of your chatbot.
Stay tuned, we plan to release many ready-to-use B2E chatbots in the next few weeks.
